Other Requirements

Deputy

  • U.S. citizen of 21 years of age and over
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent moral character
  • Exemplary driver history and current valid operators license
  • Pass in depth background check
  • Physical condition compatible to law enforcement rigors
  • Able to pass State mandated training requirements
  • Able to work rotating shifts, week-ends, holidays
  • Previous military/law enforcement experience a plus
  • Willing to relocate to Amelia County
Civilian

  • U.S. citizen of 18 years of age and over
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent moral character
  • Exemplary driver history and current valid operators license
  • Pass in depth background check
  • Good communication, listening and public relation skills
  • Able to pass state and local mandated training requirements
  • Able to work rotating shifts, week-ends, holidays
  • Willing to relocate to Amelia County
