The Amelia County CodeRED Emergency Notification System provides the public with the ability to receive voice, text, and/or email notifications generated by government and public safety officials. There is no direct cost.

Stay Safe

CodeRED will notify the public of emergencies, and Weather Warning will alert citizens in the direct path of severe weather.

Alert Types

This system be used to alert residents of emergencies such as hazardous materials, missing children/adults, and dangerous situations that maybe occurring in your area. Notifications will also be sent out for emergency situations moments after a severe thunderstorm, tornado warning or flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. Only citizens in the immediate impact area will be alerted.

Identifying the Call

CodeRED will allow message recipients to easily identify calls coming through the systems. The message recipient's Caller ID will read Emergency Communications Network or 866-419-5000 for CodeRED calls.

For CodeRED Weather Warning calls, either Emergency Communications Network or the number 800-566-9780 will appear on Caller ID displays.

Register to Get the Call

Residents and Businesses are encouraged to sign up for this free service. Users must opt-in to receive CodeRED Weather alerts. Visit our CodeRED Portal to register your landline and mobile telephone numbers.

Privacy

Your contact information will remain private and will only be used for severe weather alerts and public safety messages.

Do Not Call List & Removing Registration

Citizens of Amelia can opt out of notifications from their home phones by filling out our CodeRED Opt-Out Form (PDF) and returning it to the Amelia County Sheriff's Office.

If cell phones have been registered and you no longer wish to receive the information or to change notifications and are unable to remember the log in and password, please contact CodeRED directly for assistance at 866-939-0911.
