County staff and volunteers at the animal shelter work hard to save the animals being housed at the shelter. Every effort is made to find a home for the many dogs and cats that pass through the shelter each year. To accomplish this, the animals are promoted on the radio, in the local newspaper, on the Internet through Petfinder and on Facebook to reunite them with their owners and if not, to hopefully find a new appropriate home.
Hard work and determination have resulted in a live release rate of 96% in 2018. We would like to increase that rate. You can see the animals currently at the shelter by visiting the Petango website.
