The Beopple Building Site and Access Improvements – FY 2010 Project
Timeline: Final completion expected by September 28, 2009.
Project Status: The project was completed September 18, 2009 ahead of schedule. The project was completed for $96,326.12 which was $3,765.28 below the cost estimate of $100,091.40.

County Fair Preparations – FY 2010 Project
Description: This project consists of the installation of a yard hydrant to supply more water for vendors. Delivering wood chips to the livestock building. Repairing the driveway and yard as needed. Removing the old surplus voting machines and transporting them to the maintenance shop to prepare them for auction. These items are to be addressed along with any other necessary maintenance needed to keep the fair running.
Timeline: This project will be on going until the fair has concluded and off the premises.

Fire Hydrant Flushing – FY 2010 Project
Description: Flushing all of the counties fire hydrants to maintain water quality.

Emergency Repairs to the Circuit Courtroom – FY 2011 Project
Description: This project is an emergency repair to the Circuit Courtroom. The maintenance staff along with various other contractors will remove and replace the ceiling, carpet, furnishings and paint.
Timeline: Work is expected to be completed by January 5, 2010.
Project Status: Completed 1/6/10
Mattoax Fire Station, ice machine installation – FY 2011 Project
Project Status: Installation of an ice machine including electrical, plumbing and drain connections. All materials supplied by the fire department.
Timeline: Work is expected to be complete by March 1, 2010.

Jetersville Fire Station, air line and air compressor installation – FY 2011 Project
Description: Installation of an air compressor, electrical panel and 1" galvanized steel air lines at the Jetersville fire station. All materials supplied by the fire department.
Timeline: Work is expected to be complete by March 1, 2010

Storage building installation at Company 1 Fire Station – FY 2011 Project
Description: Installation of wiring, insulation, heat, air conditioning, paneling and shelving in 2 storage buildings located at the Company 1 fire station. Materials are being furnished by the fire department and county staff is performing the installation.
Timeline: Work is expected to be completed as soon as the emergency repairs to the Circuit Court are completed.

Phase I of the renovations to the Emergency Operations Center – FY 2011 Project
Description: This phase of renovations is designed to get the building in shape to accommodate the Emergency Services Coordinator's office. The maintenance staff along with various contractors will renovate 1 office, a storage area and restrooms during this phase.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by February 1, 2009.
Project Status: Completed 3/5/2010. This entire project was completed in house by the maintenance staff.
Phase I of The Amelia County Maintenance Facility – FY 2011 Project
Description: Phase I consists of the construction of the shell portion of the building. Construction was contracted to Harlan Construction.
Timeline: This project is scheduled to be completed by January 1, 2010.
Project Status: Completed March 26, 2010. This project was delayed due to weather conditions.
Water System Flushing – FY 2011 Project
Description: Flushing of all County hydrants to maintain water quality. (Please note that for water quality purposes we are moving from two (2) flushes annually to flushing our lines three (3) times per year).
Timeline: This project was scheduled to be completed March 12, 2010.

Score Board Installation – FY 2011 Project
Description: Installation of a new score board at the baseball field at the County Park. Maintenance personnel will install the score board including mounting, wiring and fencing.
Timeline: This project is scheduled to be completed March 19, 2010.

Broad Band Marking – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance personnel will locate and mark water and sewer mains prior to the installation of the broad band cable. Maintenance personnel will work with the contractor to protect water and sewer infrastructure.

Road Repairs – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance personnel repaired the drainage ditch along the road to the school bus shop. Staff re-graded and re-seeded a portion of the ditch that had eroded due to heavy rains.

Storm Sewer Repairs – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance personnel dug up and made repairs to three (3) storm sewer structures and a section of pipe line located at the Amelia County Elementary School.

Sewer Line Repair – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance personnel along with wastewater personnel repaired damage to a section of sewer line on Jefferson Street. Damage was caused by roots growing into the line.

Phase I of the Amelia County Maintenance Facility – FY 2011 Project
Description: Contractor will construct the shell portion of the maintenance facility in preparation for county force to complete the remaining phases

Amelia Day Preparations – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance staff will be working to prepare the Courthouse Square for the Amelia Day Festival by mulching flower beds, trimming trees, sweeping streets, painting and other items as needed.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by May 10. 2010.

Dug Outs at the County Park Baseball Field – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance staff removed and rebuilt 2 dug outs at the county park baseball field in preparations for the Dixie Pre-Major state tournament.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by July 15, 2010.

Softball and Baseball Tournament Preparations – FY 2011 Project
Description: Maintenance staff will be working to prepare the County Park and ball fields for the upcoming tournaments. Preparations include reworking the fields, painting, fencing, building a press box and any other repairs or maintenance needed prior to the tournament dates.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by July 16. 2010.

Active FY 2011 –Maintenance Department Projects
Virginia Street Drainage Improvements – FY 2011 CIP Project
Timeline: This project is expected to go out for bid with the enhancement project once the County receives VDOT approval.
Project Status: The County has received authorization from VDOT to proceed with the bidding process. B&B Consultants are in the process of completing the advertisement. The bids for this project for will be received during the month of August.
Transportation Enhancement Improvements – FY 2011 CIP Project
Timeline: This project is expected to go out for bid once the County receives VDOT approval.
Project Status: The County has received authorization from VDOT to proceed with the bidding process. B&B Consultants are in the process of completing the advertisement. The bids for this project for will be received during the month of August.
Phase II of the Amelia County Maintenance Facility – FY 2011 CIP Project
Description: Completion of the interior portion of the building. County staff along with various contractors will complete the framing, wiring, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, painting, flooring, ceilings and equipment installation.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by September 1, 2010.
Project Status: The maintenance staff has completed the rough wiring, plumbing and is working on the HVAC system.
Phase III of the Amelia County Maintenance Facility – FY 2011 CIP Project
Description: Site work to complete the maintenance facility. County staff along with various contractors will complete the connection of utilities, demolition of the existing shop, exterior grading, parking lots, fencing and all other items needed to complete the Maintenance facility project.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2010.
Project Status: The main power has been installed and the maintenance staff is currently working on the site grading and utilities installations. This project has been temporarily placed on hold so that the dug outs at the county park could be completed. This work is being performed in accordance with phases I and II.
Concrete Aprons for Fire Stations – FY 2011 CIP Project
Description: Construction of concrete aprons at each Fire Department
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed by September 1, 2010.
Project Status: Castle Heights Construction has completed work at four of the five sites and work is schedule to begin at Paineville on July 27, 2010. This project is currently on schedule and on budget.
Richmond Road Project – FY 2010 CIP Project
Description: Revenue sharing project for widening and upgrade of approximately one mile from the intersection of Richmond Road and Bevels Bridge Road
Timeline: No timeline has been set for the project.
Project Status: B&B Consultants are currently revising the plans per VDOT’s comments. The plans will be resubmitted to VDOT once the revisions are complete.
Russell Grove Sign Replacement
Description: Replacement of the deteriorating monument at the Russell Grove Building.
Timeline: This project is expected to be completed February 1 2010.
Project Status: The demolition of the old sign has been completed and the materials for the new sign have been delivered. The project is currently on hold while the correct wording for the new sign can be determined.

Amelia County Industrial Park Schematic/Marketing Plan
Project Status: A master plan and overlays of the industrial park have been completed by B&B Consultants. With the departure of Mr. Danny Ford from CRC we will need to work with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to minimize costs in marketing the Industrial Park.
