Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation Program

In 2000 Amelia County initiated the Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation Program (IPR) to assist County residents who did not have adequate indoor plumbing. The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development funds the program for Counties throughout Virginia. Eligible homes will have bathrooms added and the structure brought up to Virginia's Section 8 Housing Standard, or if rehab is not cost effective, a comparable house will be constructed and the existing structure removed. Since 2000, the IPR Program funds ten (10) projects each year.
