Johnny F. Black Scholarship

The Johnny F. Black Scholarship was established to honor the late Magistrate of Amelia County, Johnny F. Black, a person who demonstrated and believed in honesty, integrity and high moral values.

Virginia Sheriffs' Institute Scholarship

The Virginia Sheriffs' Scholarship program was established to provide an opportunity for young people across Virginia to pursue an education in criminal justice.

Johnny F. Black Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the late Magistrate of Amelia County Johnny F. Black. He demonstrated and believed in honesty, integrity and high moral values. He was always giving back to the community and believed in second chances. He was a man who was respected by all.

The Amelia County Sheriff's Office will award two scholarships of $500 each to one graduate of Amelia County High School and one graduate of Amelia Academy.

Who Can Apply
We encourage everyone who wants to better themselves to apply. If your plans are to attend a trade school, obtain a 2 to 4 year degree at a college or university then this scholarship is for you. Candidate must be a graduating senior in the year of the award who will be attending one of the above mentioned schools in the next academic year.
