Library Hours This new state-of-the-art library was completed in the year 2000. The borrowing procedures have all been automated and patrons will soon be able to look up their records on the internet. A total of 3,446 new materials were added to the collections, 579 new patrons were registered, and an average of 1,225 people visit the library on a monthly basis. The library has developed a Parents Resource Center, which includes materials about parenting, education and teacher resources. Product recall updates, videos and magazines are also housed here, as is a bulletin board for home-schooling parents. People choose the library as an ideal location for meetings, tutoring sessions, study groups and even a social gathering place. This year, the library opened the Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program to adult interests, as well as those of children. The Friends of the Library helped to expand the Program from one program one day a week to two programs five days a week, and three on one of those days. Some of these new programs will likely carry on beyond summer. To visit our library, just click on the James L. Hamner Public Library Link below. Latest News
